I was at the dentist’s office today with my wife, and they had the June issue of Prosper. I started reading and couldn’t put it down. I am glad my wife’s appointment took an hour and half, it gave me the time to read cover to cover.

This is the type of story I would have read months ago and thought “wow,” but then probably forget about within minutes of reading it. Well, not anymore. In February my mother had a similar experience and also received a stent. Thankfully, she is recovering well and going through a great cardiac rehab program. I am so glad that Michael is around to share his story, and hopefully the information you provided will save many more lives, as well.

I liked the article but it did not mention that the folks that make it alive to the hospital already are the lucky ones. To decrease the deaths from heart attacks we need early access to basic life support (CPR) — within 5 minutes — and then early access to advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). To do this we need more citizens trained in CPR.
