Outtakes: Cover Shoot
It was an unexpectedly fun assignment, going to news stations and meeting some of local TV’s most familiar faces, as well as some of the forces behind the news. Truth is, I love invading people’s space, and when they’re willing to play, incredible things happen.
The interesting thing to me is the people I got to photograph showed a side that was real and not just for the TV cameras, giving me a glimpse into their off-camera personalities. I was delighted because that is what I was looking for — from Steve Charlier jumping in this cavernous studio to Russell Postell showing me yoga poses.
For me the thrill of being a photographer is the opportunity to play, and this phenomenally talented group was definitely playful, which makes my job a joy. By CHARR CRAIL

What a nice guy! I love these shoots where there’s the possibility of meeting great people. Paul is definitely one of those! Who would have thought someone would have the determination to drill tunnels into a local mountain and make a wine cellar out of it. Technically, the shoot was a bear — and I have to thank Paul for his unwavering patience while I kept building the light. May he Prosper!
