“The heart of mountain biking is being in the woods and experiencing nature,” says Kyle Crezee, 29, mountain bike services manager for Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort. The ski lifts are an even more potent attraction, carrying riders and their bikes to the top of the trails. In 1992, Northstar opened a summer bike park on its ski runs, which serve as a tool to bring in guests during the off-season.? “The mountain bike park is one of the biggest attractions the resort has to offer,” Crezee says. Newbies are welcome on the 100 miles of trails, but the park is best suited for intermediate and advanced bikers. “We have hard features, jumps, and table tops,” Crezee boasts. Not intimidated yet? You can explore these bike trails in late June to early October for $25-$39 daily.
