Fun with Geniuses in the Balance

By Neil Michel

This issue we bid farewell to Prosper’s “little blue people,” known around the office as “geniuses in the balance.”
The cute, agile, androgynous characters officially retire this month, but not before they tango with their real-life counterparts one more time, in our look back at the companies Prosper experts and advisers picked to lead the region in 2005-2006 (see “2006 Baby Blue Report,” page 32).
If you think Sacramento’s business elite lack imagination and creativity, just take a look at the poses these executives were able to hit during a most unusual photo shoot for the story.
“Just extend your arm to your side and pretend there’s a little blue person hanging under it,” we told them. “Or how about one where he’s standing on your head?”
Regardless of how their companies performed this year, each of these top execs went the distance in the studio, proving they’re not just geniuses, they’re actually pretty good at balancing acts, too.
The “little blue people” have not retired in vain.
