Interview With Kelly Brothers
For this first in a series of conversations with business leaders who have ties to Sacramento, Kelly Brothers, financial consultant for Smith Barney, morning drive host for KFBK and business anchor for News10, sits down with high school friend Eleni Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis, president of AKT Development Corp.
Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis is the daughter of well-known developer/philanthropist Angelo Tsakopoulos. Now approaching 40, Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis is an accomplished developer in her own right, but may be looking at a possible new field to hoe.
Fueled by voter-recognition polling and a not-so-secret, Hollywood-style commercial shoot starring Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis, speculation is growing that she is running for state controller. So, Brothers’ first question begs asking:
Is there any chance you’d ever run for political office? It seems to be a natural extension of who you are.
