Leaving the Moss Behind
By Warren Smith
YEEEEEEHAAAAAA! I love starting out with an idea, putting a “kick ass” team in place and then watching what they can do. I also love to watch the naysayers and competitors, who spell doom for anything new, eat their words. Well, they just took their first bite and their face shows fear.
As we celebrate Prosper’s 13th issue and move into our second year in business, the magazine continues to pick up speed and leave the moss behind. I am proud of our team and contributors as Prosper continues to help shape the future of this great region. They stuck by their principles and stayed away from the “pay for play” mentality that permeates other publications and that lessens the integrity of objective reporting. Going forward, the Prosper team will continue to create an environment rich in care and accountability for each other, our readers and our advertisers.
Over the course of the next year, Prosper will reach profitability and will lead in elevating discussions that challenge old mindsets and foster pride in this region as a global competitor. The world watches as this region, rich in resources and quality of life amenities, re-creates itself into a metropolis. Prosper will be at the table for this, and will challenge those who don’t believe in this region’s destined transformation.
This anniversary issue aptly introduces a new list of emerging companies we call “Baby Blue Chips.” What better way to celebrate Prosper’s first year, than by introducing companies that are planting seeds of economic growth that will shape our prosperous future?
Since more than 50 percent of the magazine’s targeted audience has already subscribed, Prosper’s voice must be resonating. Thank you for your trust as we prove that we do what we say and say what we do.
