The Sacramento area abounds with worthy steakhouses, from The Broiler to Morton’s and Chops, and now upscale national chain Ruth’s Chris Steak House is coming to the Roseville Galleria later this summer.
There are times, however, when you might yearn for a less upscale place where you can show up in cowboy boots and kick back in a more relaxed and rural environment. You’re in luck; the hills around us are alive with the sound of grilling.
A well-grilled steak can be the perfect goal of a short trip out of town. Here are three steakhouses worth the hour-or-so drive from Sacramento, listed in order of “rustic-ness,” a new word created for purposes of this article.
