She sells on eBay and on her own website, where she offers a $15 a month adopt-a-sheep program to the site’s visitors. At the end of a year, she sends participants the wool from the sheep.
     “Silk cocoons are selling big time (on eBay),” she says.  Simons also sells fleece from the rare vicuna, which recently was reclassified from an endangered species to “threatened.”     
     “It’s the warmest and softest fiber.  Once you feel it, you don’t want anything else,” she says. The fiber sells for $250 an ounce. In all, Simons has more than 500 items listed for her eBay Store.
     Her advice for others considering selling on eBay: “You learn by buying.” She means anything on eBay — a book, an antique — to learn how the site operates. “It’s also important to have a user-friendly ad,” she advises. “Too many sellers list what they can’t or won’t do,” Simons says. “I tell them what I will do.”
