Franchising:

His first store is at University Mall in Davis, with plans to open two units in Sacramento within two years. The first franchise cost $90,000, with 10 percent discounts given on additional ones.
Galvez used the services of FranNet, which claims to be the largest franchise consulting group in North America.
Successful Matchmaking
Greg Roquet, who works from Sacramento as president of FranNet (Franchise Network of Northern California and Nevada), assisted Galvez in his search for the perfect business opportunity. Through FranNet, Roquet coaches clients in profiling personal, professional and financial goals, reviewing business strategies and modeling ideal components.
FranNet introduces clients to suitable franchisors and supplies tools for researching their offerings. There’s no cost to potential buyers; franchisors pay FranNet for successful matchmaking with qualified franchisees.
Roquet assisted Pati Austin of Elk Grove, who spent three years independently researching franchises before attending a free FranNet seminar. After meeting with Roquet, she says, “in just a few minutes he knew what would work for me.”
A single parent and former daycare provider, Austin is opening a Postnet mail services store in Elk Grove, catering to Spanish-speaking customers: “I wanted to be a solution for a necessity. Plus, I saw the possibility of expanding, going international in El Salvador, where I’m from.”
