Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, move over. Here comes Folsom Lake College.
Folsom Lake College?
In one of the fastest-growing areas of the Sacramento Metro Marketplace, at one of the fastest-growing community colleges, a late-fall groundbreaking is planned for a $27 million state-of-the-art fine- and performing-arts complex.
Folsom Lake College President Thelma Scott-Skillman is driving the ambitious project. She believes such a center can become a cultural and performing-arts hub for her school’s vast Highway 50 corridor and foothills service area of her school.
“It will be,” she says, “the signature building for the Los Rios Community College District,” which includes her campus, American River College, Consumnes River College and Sacramento City College.
“It will be an icon for the area,” she predicts.
