Riding High
Most cannabis dispensaries (“Out of Their Minds,” Medical Marijuana, page 61) offer alternatives to smoking medical marijuana, including these take-offs on popular candy bars: Mr. Greenbud Bar, Dank Patty, and Stoners Tainted Truffle.
1-Point Take-Down:
It was a grounding moment for Jesse “The Body” Ventura at the Sac Metro Chamber’s Annual Dinner on January 28. After delivering a controversial keynote address that body-slammed both major political parties on issues ranging from campaign finance to gay marriage, the former professional wrestler-turned Minnesota Governor must have felt a little less like a self-described “statesman” when KCRA News Anchor Dierdre Fitzpatrick stepped to the podium to thank Ventura for his comments and presented a Jesse “The Body” Ventura finger puppet. The diminuitive Fitzpatrick quipped, “But after that speech, I think we all know you’re nobody’s puppet.” Other highlights from the event included the chamber’s annual "Sacramentan of the Year” award, which was presented to UC Davis Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef.
