According to a report from J.D. Powers & Associates, nine of 10 chief financial officers nationwide believe the new rules and procedural requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act are greater than the benefits. What a shock.

Counting Cars Motorists on north-bound Interstate 5 passing under downtown Sacramento honked and shouted various inaudible suggestions to a crew of traffic counters perched atop the highway. It’s all in a day’s work for (from right) Jennifer Yadon, Kathy Yadon, and Bill Murphy, employees of All Traffic Data, a Roseville firm contracted by Caltrans to help traffic engineers understand the demand for local highways. Ever wonder how many cars pass through a single lane of I-5 during rush hour? About 2,000 per hour, per lane.
