Outsourcing

Opponents of offshore outsourcing contend that sending American jobs to foreign countries is damaging the U.S. economy and harming its workers, while many business and economic leaders counter that outsourcing not only aids a company’s bottom line but also benefits far more workers than it harms.
    The pros and cons of offshore outsourcing are debated by Roger Baccigaluppi, former CEO of Blue Diamond Growers and currently CEO of RB International, a Sacramento-based international marketing consulting company, and who supports the practice, and California Assemblymember Carol Lui, (D La Can?ada-Flintridge), author of A.B. 1829, legislation recently vetoed by Gov. Schwarzenegger that would have barred companies doing business with the state from outsourcing work to foreign nations.
