This room was accented with candles and a crockpot filled with hot water and stones. Once I was in place, my masseuse Rebecca placed rows of heated stones under my back. Apparently, I am a sensitive guy after all. They were too hot for me, so she put down an extra towel. She explained this is an American Indian technique and not to everybody’s taste. But I was game. She strategically positioned smaller stones on top and used larger ones as hand tools. She even put little ones between my toes. But the stones would fall out of place, requiring periodic interruptive maintenance. I suggested we switch to a good ol’ fashioned rubdown, which really hit the spot.
After changing clothes, I returned to the lobby, where I received a number of smiles and skin-care samples. The staff encouraged me to bring my wife next time, which seemed like a good idea. They have side-by-side massage tables for couples, you know.
